TikTok is renowned for the 15-second quirky videos, but users must also be in the watch out for scammers in the network that is social.
Cybersecurity business Tenable circulated a 50-page report on Wednesday that outlined three forms of frauds it available on TikTok that involved directing users to adult online dating sites, impersonating popular users and boosting loves and supporters.
“Given TikTok’s meteoric boost in appeal, it comes down as not surprising that scammers would take serious notice, ” Tenable researcher Satnam Narang said into the report. “to date, these frauds look like in their infancy. “
This year in March, Narang started tracking scammers on TikTok, which surpassed 1 billion downloads.
